Automotive Electronics

Modern vehicles have become very reliant on electrical systems to function properly. The alternator, battery, and other electrical and electronic systems control much of the functionality of your car including your braking and acceleration so it’s vital your system is running perfectly.

The techs at Auto Super Shoppe Te Awamutu are fully trained in the latest electronic diagnostics and repair equipment and have the experience to back it up.

If you suspect your vehicle may be having electrical issues, get it checked out right away. If you act quickly you may avoid more costly problems further down the track.

Obvious issues can show up as:
  • Warning lights on your dash (the obvious ones)
  • Electrical components not working
  • Fuses keep blowing
But other issues might not be so obvious, look for:
  • Burning plastic smell
  • Issue with running / acceleration
  • Trouble starting
  • Excessive fuel use

A diagnostic check can be a quick, easy process and identify issues that need to be sorted.

Batteries

Battery replacement and diagnosis

Your electrical system relies on your battery to operate, so if your battery is not up to spec or is getting a little tired, it may affect the way your vehicle operates, especially when it goes flat!

As vehicles become more electronically complex, it’s vital that any replacement battery fitted to your car is to your vehicle’s specifications. We stock a wide range of batteries and can fit a new battery free of charge.

  • Car batteries contain hazardous chemicals and should be handled with care.
  • Hybrid and EV batteries plug and play options available.
  • Up to 3 year warranty

Tips

  • Come in and get your battery checked before winter hits. Batteries that are struggling are most likely to give up the ghost once it gets cold, just when you need it the most!
  • If you have an EV or Hybrid vehicle it will have a standard 12v battery AND a battery pack. DO NOT attempt to access the main battery pack.
  • You should perform a visual inspection of your battery every 12 months. If you see any of the following, make a time to come in and we’ll check it properly: Corrosion on the terminals, Cracked case, loose hold-down brackets or frayed cables.

Auto Super Shoppe Te Awamutu are here to make it easy, so if you have any questions or are not quite sure about your battery or electronics, just come in and we’ll get you sorted out. If you're in or around Te Awamutu and are in the need of some battery advice, get in touch.
